The Vestry invites you to hear the recommendations of the Future Directions Task Force after the service.
Worship is central to our life as a Christian community here at St. Peter’s Church and we provide several differing styles of services to appeal to a wide range of people.
On Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. (10:00 during the summer) we celebrate Holy Eucharist Rite II a modern English vernacular service with music. On the first Sunday of each month the lay leadership roles are filled by the parish youth, the sermon is geared toward the children who are invited to stand with the celebrant at the altar during the Eucharistic Prayer of consecration.
According to Canon 15, “Diocesan Council is a decision-making body of the Diocese of Maine that is comprised of two elected members from each of the eight diocesan Areas…The Diocesan Council shall administer and carry out the work of the Episcopal Church within the Diocese of Maine, subject to such directions as the Diocesan Convention may give.”
On Friday, September 8 and all day Saturday, September 9, Diocesan Council will gather at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Rockland Maine for meetings and discussions. And on Sunday, September 10, the whole parish family of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church will worship together as Bishop Stephen Lane officiates Holy Eucharist.
