Sunday, January 20, immediately following the 9:00 a.m. service, the parish will gather in the sanctuary for the Annual Meeting. This is your opportunity to elect Vestry members and delegates to the Diocesan Convention. Reports will be presented, primarily in written form, to update everyone on the activities or the past year and plans for the future of St. Peter’s. The approved 2019 operating budget will also be reviewed. In these times of social change and discernment of new ways to be church, being informed about our own congregation is important – so plan to come. Refreshments and coffee will be available.
Then following the meeting, plan to stay to “meet the candidates” for the next bishop of the Diocese of Maine.
Meet the Candidates for Next Bishop of Maine – Sunday, January 20, after the Annual Meeting, 1:30-4:30pm. The Portland “Walk-About” with candidates will be live-streamed, and we can watch from the comfort of our parlor. Bring a bag lunch and settle in as we have an opportunity to watch and phone in with questions of the candidates for our next bishop. Our delegates from St. Peter’s (The Clergy and Lay Delegates Marty Rogers, Harold Van Lonkhuyzen, and Doree Fisher) need your wisdom and impressions.
If you would like to read up on the candidates, their resumes and responses to some short questions, take a look at the Bishopquest Website.
