Tuesdays during Lent, and in the last week of Lent on Thursday (Feb 28 – Mar 30) at 11:30am in the Vestry Room (opposite the parish office). We will be exploring Anglican spirituality using Vicki Black’s, Welcome to Anglican Spiritual Traditions. Participants may go to their favorite bookstore or online vendor, but know that we have a handful of copies already available for use. Please bring a bag lunch; it’s nice to break bread together.
For those who want more or to study on your own, here are some recommended books for Lent (not in any particular order and all available in St. Peter’s library):
Rowan Williams, The Sign and the Sacrifice (accessible book on early church understandings of the crucifixion and resurrection)
Barbara Brown Taylor, Speaking of Sin (thoughtful, personal reflections on sin)
John O’Donohue, Walking in Wonder (meditations on Celtic themes)
Amy-Jill Levine, Entering the Passion of Jesus (Jesus’ last days from a Jewish perspective)
Richard Rohr, Wondrous Encounters (daily reflections using Scripture)
